Auroras in Saariselkä – Northern Lights Photo Tour by Car and on Foot

Great experience and wonderful tour guide Linda. We were very lucky and were able to see the Northern Lights.

We had the experience of a lifetime! The forecasts suggested we would not see the aurora but we were lucky and it turned out to be unbelievably active. Our guide, Linda, was fantastic! She was relatively new but seemed like a seasoned pro. She took us to a beautiful spot with no other people (and out of the Arctic wind) and we shot photos for over an hour. The cabin/fire/dinner experience was amazing and we had the added good fortune of beautiful falling snow while cozy in the cabin eating yummy food and drinking hot chocolate. Linda’s background as a biologist and her knowledge of the environment and local fauna really rounded out what was a perfect experience.

サーリセルカは1泊で1回のチャンスにかけて参加。1日曇り空、雨もぱらついていてこれは見れないかと思っていたが、結果すごいオーロラが見られた。 ただ、バウチャーに書いてあった待ち合わせ場所と実際の待ち合わせ場所が違い焦った。たまたまキャンセルしようとツアー会社に電話して発覚したのでセーフだったが。参加者は私と母の2人のみ。ガイドは男女2人の英語ガイドさん。とても親切だった。今回は私たちはすごくラッキーで1時間以上ずっとオーロラが出続けていたので大満足だが、出ないとやはりツアーが成り立つ気がしないし、何より英語での会話で3時間ももたない。(自然のことなので仕方ないが)見えるか見えないかは運次第だが、出発前が曇り空だからと言って諦めることはない、どっちみち当日キャンセルは返金されないので騙されたと思って行ってみるといいです。9月の中ばに行きましたが、オーロラはティーピーという焚き火のできる木の小屋で暖かく待てるのですが、外は寒いのでしっかり防寒対策を。
