Auschwitz-Birkenau Camp Full-Day Guided Tour from Krakow

Very glad we went to Auschwitz and Birkenau, and having a guide was definitely a good call. There was plenty of information at both sites, but you could easily spend a day at each but miss the important details and back stories of which the guides were informative. We didn’t have the best experience with the KrakowBooking.com - mostly because it was difficult to contact them. We wanted to confirm some details beforehand but they didn’t respond to email and there was no other easy contact method. Their emergency phone line was also only open after our tour was due to start - so we knew any problems we had on the day wouldn’t be sorted. The guide at the camps was informative, but was in a rush to get everywhere, on multiple occasions he started explanations whilst my family (who weren’t the fastest walkers, but also weren’t slow) were out of hearing range. The breaks were also too short. 10 min break at a time max, but the queues to the bathrooms were longer than that. We also weren’t allowed to eat on the coach (which is generally fine), but when there’s no food or drink breaks during the 7 hour trip it’s not ideal.

Very heavy tour but the guide we had was so informative! And gave us all the information we needed to make it interesting and a very educational experience!

We booked this trip through Tui and the pick up point, pick up and bus guide and driver were all excellent. The coach arrived at the agreed time and the driver drove well. Unfortunately, we feel that we were a bit unlucky with the guide we were allocated when we got to Auschwitz. Although, she seemed a nice enough lady with a lot of knowledge she had a quiet voice with quite a pronounced accent which made her hard to hear and understand, even with the headphones. It also didn’t help that the group was about 30 people so far too big. The guide did not wait for everyone to get near to her and started speaking so if you were at the back you missed a lot of what was said. As some people have already said, the tour felt rushed and it felt as if we missed some of the buildings. We also weren’t given much time at each of the exhibits to really read and look. We did feel a bit short changed as we probably only heard 30% of what was said and felt rushed when trying to read the information boards. All in all, we were glad we visited but the tour and explanation could have been much better.
