We got on the tour of Miss Jackson and the first thing we heard after her lukewarm welcome were her trolley rules. My son and I just looked at each other. Let’s make a long story short…this trolley ride was clearly all about her. It all made sense when she told us that she drove a Boston school bus for 15 years. “I let the kids on my bus choice the music we listened to…they got to choose between two types…county and western.” Most of her jokes fell flat and weren’t relevant or not relatable . When there were folks in the bus breaking the “whisper only” rule a man on the trolley yelled at them and she threatened to kick them out at the next stop. Uncomfortable. We decided to get off at next stop and so did most of the other folks on the trolley. This was not our stop so I asked Miss Jackson when the next trolley would stop. She confirmed 30 minutes. We waited 45 minutes in the bitter cold for the next trolley. I hope that she can learn to be more engaging and friendly in the future so that her tip hat does not remain empty. If it’s just that she is new or had a bad day, please partner her with Crafty…I know he would be happy to share some tips for success.
