Our pioneering spirit at La Maison Arabe led us to open the first cooking school in the Kingdom of Morocco in 2001. Food lovers staying in Marrakech can discover some secrets of Moroccan traditional cuisine. The workshops are conducted by a dada (traditional Moroccan cook), algonside a translator ( Arabic/English/French) and are held by the cooking school near the Riad-Hotel La Maison Arabe or by the secret gardens away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. The Moroccan cooking workshops at La Maison Arabe allow one to learn the ins and outs of preparing a Moroccan dish in a beautiful new workshop with state-of-the-art equipment. The workstations are individual and only fresh local ingredients of the highest quality are used. Cooking workshops at La Maison Arabe offers 2 options :  * 1 Hour express Moroccan cooking workshops: 2 sessions per day : 1:30pm (lunch) & 6:30 pm (dinner). * 3 Hours Moroccan cooking workshop: 2 sessions per day at 10am (lunch) and 3pm (dinner).

Had an excellent time at the 1hr course. Chef and host were very friendly and enthusiastic. Food tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous cookery course, I can’t think how it could be improved. We were driven out to the hotel’s country club which includes a fully professional training kitchen with a complete work station per person. We were greeted with a demo of how to make mint tea while watching our Dada Habiba make and bake fresh bread in the wood fired bread oven and roast peppers for our menu. Our menu was Zaalouk Aubergine salad, Taktouka roasted pepper and tomato salad and tagine de poulet au citron confit. Our Dada was a super smiley boss lady and our very much hands-on interpreter was Fatima. The food we made and ate outside on the terrace was delicious. We got to cool our feet off in the swimming pool before being dropped off back at the hotel with an excellent goody bag including the recipes. The Hotel’s cookery book can be bought back at the hotel. They could sell more if available at the cookery school. Good book - misses the Moroccan names of dishes but worth buying.

This was a fantastic experience. Very professional from start to finish well explained and organised you have your own cooking workstation all ingredients explained and a lovely meal at the end of it …. Brilliant
