Eko Tours cancelled our tour for 7 people at 5pm the evening before our 9am cruise. They would not help us find another cruise during out short stay in Picton as they said they were the only one of its kind. The lady also informed me that they were very busy over the Easter weekend so it was not worth it for them to take out such a small party as it did not meet their $900 quota. I expressed my disappointment as the cruise was purchased as Christmas presents for my children and that we were only staying in Picton for one night for the purpose of the cruise and explained how terribly disappointed my children were, as we had traveled form Sydney, and she hung up on me!! A company more worried about the bottom line than customer service!!

We chose to go on the E-Ko Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary & Dolphin watching Tour after speaking with the very friendly & informative Nicky at reception. Fortunately it was blue skies & sunshine for our afternoon cruise ☀️ Captain Paul guided us through the picturesque Marlborough Sounds to Motuara Island. We saw a variety of bird life (cormorants, shearwaters, penguins) & dolphins playing along the journey. Seeing the bottlenose & hector dolphins were spectacular & such a highlight for us to see. We walked with our wonderful guide Alice up to the Motuara Island lookout where there were spectacular views of the Tasman & ship cove. Thank you Alice & Paul for sharing your knowledge. It was a very informative & most enjoyable afternoon we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We went on the half day boat tour from Picton. Nikki our guide was wonderful explaining everything about the wildlife on the islands and we had a fantastic trip. Of course it is down to luck as to what you see but they seemed to try very hard to find animals and birds, and we saw dolphins, seals and gannets. The walk up Moatura Island was great and we saw all of the main birds there. We enjoyed the coffee and wine on the ride back and learning about the projects in place to save endangered species here. Well worth it
