Seeing the very rustic way they make Mezcal was super interesting and the guide was well informed about the process. I also very much enjoyed the tour of the family run alebrijas business. I felt this was thorough enough to get a good understanding of the process involved as well as all the zapotecan symbols used in the painting of these beautiful pieces of art!
There were a couple of spots that unfortunately just felt like a cash grab although when I asked to see a little more of the process they were somewhat accommodating, so felt a little better about it.
I did think that we were going to see how they make the berro negro that Oaxaca is famous for? But maybe this tour like many others right now have had to alter due to covid?
I would recommend to friends but only after it has come back to more 'normal'.
The tour guide was well informed and was helpful in answering questions, etc.
