My family has had a brilliant experience with Sofia, she is an excellent tour guide. We saw turtles and Dory fish at Akumal. Sofia was very knowledgeable about the Cenotes and this part of the trip was magical. The photos are fantastic and captured the day perfectly. An amazing experience overall and the favourite day of our holiday

TLDR:May 30, 2025 yes we saw 9 sea turtles and Juan was awesome! First thing to know is that your travel time to Akumal is dependent on how close your resort is to it. My wife and I stayed at Hard Rock Rivera Maya, was the last pick up, and rode less than 30 minutes. If your resort is closer to Cancun just be prepared for a longer ride. First stop was Akumal. It took a bit to get through everything and get to the ocean but it was well worth the wait. Seeing sea turtles had been on our bucket list and 9 turtles later my wife and I were all smiles. So awesome! Second, the Mayan massage was less than enjoyable (you'll see when you go ????) but the cenote was really cool! The bats were an unexpected treat (small, no danger) but be prepared for some cold water! Lunch after was homemade empanadas and they were FANTASTIC. Side note, water shoes for the cenote were nice to have but not necessary. Juan and his crew were amazing! He was very knowledgeable about everything and his English was impeccable. Made us feel very comfortable for the entirety of the trip. Second side note: derrick was our photographer and did a great job capturing fantastic photos. We even took our own waterproof camera and he did better ????. Bringing a physical card for picture purchase is easier but not necessary.

We saw lots of turtles and the cenote we went to was incredible! Yule was our tour guide and he was funny and very knowledgeable.
