NOTHING as described. You get on a tiny boat and get dumped off in the ocean and need to SWIM A WAYS to the "beach" NOT a cove and barely saw any fish and when you got towards the beach we saw 1 turtle with 10 other groups around us all trying to see it making it so murky the turtle looked gray not green. Absolutely do not book!!! Caves were cool but be prepared to be eating alive by bugs. No food or alcohol or at least no food you would want to eat or kids would eat. Our 3 groups actually asked to be brought back early and they made us sign and write why so they didn't "lose their jobs". Do not book!
The Half-Day Sea Turtle and Cenote Snorkeling Tour was an absolute great day from start to finish! Booked through our resort, picked up in private van at our lobby. The group was limited to 12, which was a good balance of size for quaint private feel, with dedicated guide (Xenia), driver (Rodo, felt safe both on the road, and that you could leave valuables in the van), and photographer (Pame - to capture the day with high quality affordable pictures).
At all times, our group felt safe (driving & snorkeling in the ocean, and cenote). Life vest, masks, and snorkels were provided, just needed a suit and towel (wet suits were provided for the young kids, and available to rent for adults at the cenote for warmth, but arguably not needed).
It was about a 45min drive from PDC to Akumal beach, where we got our life vest/masks, orientation, and pictures before we jumped into a small boat to take us ~200m offshore. We were able to casually snorkel as a group over coral beds, where we were able to see several small reef fish. As we worked our way towards the shore, the coral turns to sea grass, the home of several SEA TURTLES. In addition to the Xenia and Pame, there were other staff members ensuring safety, protecting the environment, and helping spot turtles. We were able to see several turtles, VERY close, before working our way back to shore.
After snorkeling, the tour provided bottled water and banana before getting back into the van, for a short 10min trip to a private cenote. Very easy walk down stairs/trail into the cenote, with more snorkeling in the crystal clear water.
After snorkeling, we had a small home made lunch (tortillas cooked over fire while you watched), and non-alcoholic drinks (alcohol and other snacks available for purchase).
Wrapping up the day, with tequila toast and review of the photos taken throughout the day. We felt the photos were fair price, and very high quality digital copies sent to your email for your use.
Throughout the entire day, we felt very cared for; both our safety and enjoyment. Xenia was a wealth of knowledge guiding you through the various fish/sea life, turtles, region, and cenote formations. Our group ranged from 8-80 yrs old, and everyone had a great time!
Thank you Xenia for a great day!

Coco was a great tour guide. We had a wonderful time. The photographer took wonderful action shots of myself and children. Unfortunately I paid 80 US currency for photos I never received. I have reached out to the company several times with no luck. What I was sent was an expired link of my photos. I'm very upset about this situation as this was my first trip with my children. I'm hoping someone will get back to me to solve this issue.
