The excursion really should have been cancelled given the lack of whale shark sightings in the area and it being the end of the season. Not seeing any sharks was a big disappointment but so was a lot of other things. Breakfast for the employees consisted of breakfast burritos, but as a customer we were offered a brown bag that contained a bottle of water, banana, yogurt and bread. The lunchtime meal served in the boat consisted of shrimp ceviche as well as ham and cheese sandwiches. A member of our party didn’t eat shellfish or pork so it made for a long foodless day. Since we didn’t see any whale sharks it made for a very long day of cruising around the ocean with little opportunity to do anything else. The tour operator should really have a plan B or simply should have canceled.

This was a fantastic tour! Our guide Jane was the best, she was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun! We had a great crew, and even though we went on the very last day of the season, thanks to our guide I was blessed to swim with the whale shark!! The snorkel on the reef was also a great experience, and we enjoyed our lunch on Isle Muheres. The boat ride was fun too, and it definitely was an all day trip.

We took the last whale shark tour of the season and our guide Jane and her Capt put us on the last whale in the area. We were very lucky as late season can be hit or miss. Jane was so knowledgeable about not just the whale sharks but all wildlife in the area. She flowed effortlessly between Spanish and English. We also snorkeled the large reef and her ability in the water really shines there. Lunch was prepared by our captain was fantastic. We highly recommend this tour.
