Get an introduction to some of the best beaches on the south coast of Crete on a guided day trip to Plakias and Preveli Beach. Venture through some of the island's amazing palm forests and then relax at the beach!As we go to these beaches, crossing with our bus the wild Kourtaliotis Gorge, we stop to see the magnificent waterfalls and the springs of the little river Preveli. Then we head to the sandy beach of Damnoni where a ship will take us in approximately thirty minutes to the famous Palm Beach Preveli.Leaving the Palm Beach Preveli we go for traditional lunch and if you want for one more swim in the picturesque village of Plakias.

    Discover 3 of the most famous beaches on the south coast of Crete on a journey through the wild Kourtaliotis Gorge. Benefit from hotel pick-up, and then travel to the gorge, where you can walk down to the springs and waterfalls flowing towards the river at Preveli Beach. Discover a unique mix of sandy beach and green river flanked by palm forests and rocky surroundings. Get some time to relax in the sun and take a dip in the sea. Continue to the popular Damnoni Beach at the exit to the valley, protected by high mountains, where you can take a boat trip to Preveli Beach.Then, go to the small resort of Plakias, situated in a natural bay, and get some time to enjoy lunch, do some shopping and go for another swim in the turquoise waters. Return back to Rethymno along a different route to experience the dramatic landscapes of the Kotsifou Gorge.

    Continue to the sandy beach of Damnoni, where the boat is waiting to take you to Palm Beach Preveli at the south-end of Kourtaliotis Gorge, at the mouth of the river Preveli. Enjoy some time for a splendid swim in the crystal clear waters of the Libyan Sea, sunbathe and relax, and embark on a short hike through the tropical forest. Hop back on the boat and return back to the sandy beach of Damnoni. The next stop is the small resort Plakias, situated in a natural bay. Here you can have lunch, go for another swim or do some shopping. We will take another road to return to Rethymno, driving through the impressive Kotsifou Gorge.

It already started that you were promised to be picked up at the hotel We had to walk more than 10 minutes for the bus First beach was nice but there we were only momentarily When the boat to preveli You couldn't get a seat there because you could walk over the heads Beach was downright filthy Boat back and we had to go to a restaurant where the tour guide has shares because she advised us to eat there 40 times and if you paid you could also use a bed on the beach for free You can guess The cots were all taken Return trip to Rethymno was the most fun but we had to walk that stretch again after arrival All in all If you as a Tripadvisor put in the description that you will be picked up at the hotel do it also Have already done several trips with Tripadvisor but next time I will think twice Greetings Angelique and john Steeghs Ideon hotel

Faticoso arrivarci a piedi, noi siamo arrivati via mare e mi aspettavo di vedere uno splendido fiume trasparente che sfociata nel mare con tutte le palme attorno. In realtà il fiume ha un'acqua paludosa, non limpida e stagnante perché non sfocia nel mare. Ci sono 2 o 3 cigni e le palme alcune preservate bene con un bel percorso in mezzo da fare...altre lasciate andare, foglie secche grandi e pungenti x terra. Sono palme autoctone molto belle perché grandi. È presente solo una taverna e delle doccie, no stabilimento balneare quindi c'è tutta la gente assiepata sotto l'ombra degli alberelli che si trova in giro per la spiaggia. Va vista forse perché è qualcosa di diverso, ma niente di sbalorditivo. Mare cristallino e fondale di sassi.

Insgesamt ein schönes Erlebnis. In die Schlucht konnten wir leider nicht, da man den Eintritt von 5€ nur mit Karte zahlen kann. Das wussten wir vorher nicht. Um auf das Boot zu kommen, muss man kurz durchs Wasser.
