  • Be prepared to climb uneven steps and explore an archaeological site - wear good shoes. Anticipate Rome's intense heat in the summer - you may want to bring a small umbrella to block the sun as well as unexpected, sudden rainfall

This was an excellent private tour of the Colosseum for my wife and me, including the underground portion and the Forum. Our guide, Emmanuele, was superb. He was friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable. The whole experience was great, and it was well worth the cost. Highly recommended. Note that there are other tours of the Colosseum that do not include the underground area, but for my money that was the most interesting part.
