The Colosseum is built of travertine limestone, tuff volcanic rock and brickfaced concrete. It could hold an estimated 50,000 to 80,000 spectators at various points in its history it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles including animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Roman mythology, and briefly mock sea battles. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. 60 minutes

Fast track way to getting in the Colosseum with tour guide. You have flexibility to stay with tour or be independent.

Spent most of the time waiting in line to get into the Colosseum, rather than walking around.
Without the audio the tour guide is pointless- too many people- you won’t be able to hear what he is saying.
We always double-check the availability with our local partners for each booking. Even though this is usually a swift process, it can take up to 24 hours. Once this process is completed you will receive your voucher or ticket by email. If our local partner is not able to confirm your booking we will offer you the best possible alternative. If the new date and/or time doesn’t fit your itinerary, we will reimburse the full amount paid.
