I enjoyed this tour of the royal palace. Our tour guide was good and gave us some extra information that we would not have got if we went on our own.

I booked this “Skip the line” guided tour through Trip advisor. Everything went as planned by the tour company, Amigo. They sent me a text with a link to the precise location of where to meet them, which was right by the statue of Isabel. Many tour companies meet here. We were told to arrive 15 minutes early for attendance. Jose was our tour guide, he spoke clearly and good English. He took attendance and we left precisely at 12 noon by foot to the Palace. Jose provided disposable audio phones that connect to his microphone, a whisper audio system, with volume control. The tour had about 14 people including us 2. So it was very manageable. We got right in the Palace within a few minutes of arriving. Jose knew a lot about each of the 26 rooms that the tour includes. You get to see beautiful furniture, porcelain dinnerware, musical instruments , rooms that the royal family used previously, and learn what the rooms are used for now. It was just a little over one hour and it ends near where it began inside the palace. So you can stay and go around on your own. Afterwards we went to the Catedral de Almudena, which was a one minute walk and free to enter (or 1€ donation, if you’d like). Overall a very easy and good way to see the Palace of Madrid.

Carlos our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and fun, would definitely recommend. My only complaint was that it was too short! Could have done with an extra half an hour to soak it all up!
