The Củ Chi Tunnels were built during the French war (1940s) and expanded in the American war, stretching over 250 km. For nearly 20 years, Viet Cong soldiers lived and fought underground with kitchens, hospitals, and secret trapdoors. Despite US bombing and attacks, the tunnels helped them survive and defend Vietnam — a symbol of resilience after a thousand years under China and a century under French rule.
Today, visitors can explore the tunnels, see hidden traps, and learn how the Vietnamese prepared and resisted one of the most powerful armies in the world.
