Nusa Penida One Day Trip with All-inclusive

We had a great trip to Nusa Penida with my wife, and good friend. Jantraa was our guide and was excellent! Visited Broken Beach, beautiful views, and several other places. Highly recommend! My wife twisted her ankle, so we had to cut the visit short, but will return ????????

Jantraa was amazing. He was attentive and answered all of our questions. His driving on the really curvy and windy roads was amazing. We always felt safe while he was taking us to the different locations. I can’t thank him enough for his patience as my friend that went with us hurt her ankle and he was very patient and waited for her to climb the steep rocky cliffs during the excursions. As far as the excursion itself, I think it would be better to start with Crystal beach where you can go swimming first and then do the other beaches where there’s only sightseeing and waiting in the crowded area to take pictures. Broken beach you cannot do anything but take pictures overlooking the cliffs and it’s very crowded. The same with the other beaches except the last one where you can go swimming. We ended up cutting the trip short because it was just too much to wait for everyone to take their pictures at the other beaches. Jantraa again was amazing and took us back to the boat timely so that we could get back to Nusa Dua. If you are not in good shape, as far as climbing and walking, this is not the trip for you. A lot of steep hills and volcanic rock to climb to get to spots to look, view the scenery and take pictures. It’s also very crowded as everyone is trying to take pictures and do a lot of posing. Be very patient as a lot of the youngsters want to do their selfies and influencer poses.

Unfortunately, this trip did not meet expectations. The day started with an unnecessarily early pickup, even though later ferry options were available — we would have appreciated being informed and given a choice. The tour felt disorganized from the start. We had two different guides, which made things confusing. The guide in Nusa Penida seemed disengaged and uninterested, and communication was difficult as he spoke mostly in Indonesian at each stop. The driver there was also not particularly helpful. The itinerary was poorly balanced — we spent the majority of the time in the car on bumpy, nauseating roads and had less than 10 minutes at the beach. The locations were extremely crowded, making it hard to enjoy or even see much. Lunch was far below expectations and overall, the experience did not feel worth the cost. We ended the tour earlier than planned and returned to the harbor ahead of schedule. Finding the ferry company station in Nusa Penida for an earlier return was also a struggle, and we were not granted a refund. One positive note: our driver in Nusa Dua (Wahyu) was great — punctual, easygoing, and made both pickup and drop-off smooth. Still, we would have preferred to be informed in advance about the possibility of a later ferry to make a more suitable choice. Would not recommend this trip in its current form.
