All-inclusive Private 4-Day Tour to Zhangjiajie Avatar Mountain

Overall the tour was pretty good, however the tour guide the first day (Camellia) was noticeably more inexperienced than the one on the second day (Chandler). This review is only to say that Chandler did very well explaining everything and took us to a nice restaurant and guided us throughout the day. Camellia, however, just took us to different trailheads and didn't even walk with us or give us a description of anything. This company needs to re-evaluate its tour guide training and maintain quality and consistency, it was like night and day between the 2 different tour guide's quality.

I actually had 3 days in Zhangjiajie (2 at the national park and half day at the Tianmen Mountain) as part of my 11 day tour and this place was a perfect change of scenery! Breathtaking views, lots of hiking/walking but worth it! Our tour guide, JASON, was amazing! He cared for the whole group and not just provided regular guide info, he went above and beyond to provide a personal touch and recommendations/suggestions when we needed them. Some of us wanted to do the skylift and tobogan and he helped us getting tickets and gave us enough time for that. Also, since I was travelling solo, he helped with pictures and suggested great spots! It was sad to say good bye to him and Zhangjiajie for sure! This place wasn't on my original itinerary until a friend suggested it and I am so glad I added it!

Despite a bit of rain the first day, this tour of Zhangjiajie was of the highest qualities - even adding personal touches by our fabulous tour guide, Jason - that made it even more special and memorable. The tour is tailored for hikers as it consisted of 2 days of extensive walking (mostly on flat surfaces of cobblestone and intermittent stairs). Be prepared to walk a minimum of 20,000 steps per day but, honestly, with how beautiful the park is, your feet won’t notice (and, if they do, Jason already had a foot massage lined up for us when we arrived back at the hotel). Our group of 6 included both couples, family, and solo travelers and, with Jason as our leader, we formed a cohesive group that looked out for each other along the way. The walking pace Jason established allowed for all members of group to comfortably keep pace as the ages were from 30-60 years old and allow for the photographers/ nature lovers. Jason also had the better bathrooms mapped out throughout our journey and selected the best local cuisine for us to try. We really enjoyed Tang Shi Fu Tu Jia Shi Fu!! He went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying our time in Zhangjiajie, including personally even showing us the best silver shop in town at our request with a discount to boot. Don’t forget to explore the town as well as it is full of life and beauty in its own right! He also sang two songs of the local people and has a lovely singing voice so thank you Jason for sharing that with us! All in all, this is the tour company you need to book, along with Jason, if you’d like to visit this unique national forest and truly have an one-of-a-kind experience.
