5 Day Tarangire, Serengeti, Crater & Manyara - Mid Range Private

The itinerary was well-arranged, the guide was very professional, and the pick-up and drop-off service was smooth and perfect.

We had a very mixed experience with Coulors Africa (CA), thankfully we had Norton who is an excellent guide. After reviewing multiple safari itineraries, we decided to book our safari with CA. The process of detailing our itinerary went well and Justin helped get us a schedule that fit what we were looking for. The problems started as soon as we arrived at the KJO airport. Our flights had been received by CA months earlier and we had been in updated contact, however when we left the terminal (at 05:30) there was no representative from CA to meet us. Not a good start....A cab eventually showed up and we arrived at the Tulia with no idea of what was next, the driver wasn't a CA employee, and he just dropped us off. The room we were given was dirty, had only one working electrical outlet, no chairs, no soap and only two hand towels, this was probably because they checked us in at about 09:00 - I don't think this was a room they typically rent out. Eventually we got ahold of CA and they had a supervisor dude come over right away and he got us into an acceptable room they gave us the timetable for the start of the safari - finally! The hotel has a good breakfast. Our safari with Norton began the next day and he was excellent. We got to see everything that we had hoped for and enjoyed Norton and his incredible abilities in spotting animals. He seemed to be genuinely welcomed everywhere we stopped. The Intimate Camps on the Serengeti were excellent and the pace of safari was very good - with one longer day of driving coming out of the Serengeti. Our main issue with CA, and Justin in particular, stems from our last day. I had asked Justin about a month before our trip if we could do the coffee tour, waterfall hike and hot springs on our final day instead of looking at monkeys. Without consulting me again, Justin changed our itinerary to accommodate my inquiry, so I was pleased and assumed that everything fit. What happened is, when we came back to Arusha and we deposited at the "African Safari Arusha" - which is actually a motel in an out of the way location to the west of Arusha. The lodgings in the black building, which we were in was very basic and very dark. At 22:30 I received a text from CA telling us that we would have to be ready to leave by 06:30, instead of 07:00. So the hotel doesn't serve breakfast until 06:30.... In the end it didn't make any difference, except upsetting us in the middle of the night, because we didn't have time for the waterfall or the hot springs! Justin had to know this and yet he pretended that everything was fine. CA had our flight reservations months in advance, and I had emphasized our mid-afternoon departure to Justin. All he had to do was just tell me back in September that the three things weren't going to fit in our last day, we could have decided what we wanted to do that was possible. Instead, we did not receive what we had paid for in regard to Arusha, thankfully we had a great safari. Spending four hours for a cup of coffee was not what we had paid for and left us very disappointed in CA. Its a shame that they made a mess of what should have been the easiest part of our trip.....

We arrived at the agency based on a recommendation from friends, and we couldn't be more grateful. We embarked on a 6-day trip through the parks of Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. The time of year was perfect, as we were able to witness the migration of various animals and enjoy the cycle of nature at its best. The company was very professional, organized, and attentive to us at all times. The food and accommodations matched our expectations. Due to weather conditions, our plane landed at a different airport, but the company acted quickly and efficiently to resolve the issue, preventing us from losing a day of the tour, which was crucial for us. Special mention to our Chef Paul, who delighted us with his cooking, and to our guide Nicolas, who patiently and joyfully shared his vast knowledge about the parks, animals, and nature. Thanks to him, we were able to witness incredible moments of the life cycle in the parks, always respecting and caring for nature and the animals. I highly recommend Colours Africa Tours agency!
