We visited Tigray during the rainy season. Haile has excellent knowledge of the area, and provided us with so much information about the churches and the region. He was a safe and courteous guide who tailored our experience to meet our particular needs. We Haile recommend him! ;)

We enjoyed a wonderful two day tour with Haileselassie. He arranged transport for us and collected us on time from our hotel, and showed us the ancient Abreha We Atsbeha first. This is Haileselassie’s favourite church and he really shared his passion for it. We then drove on to see Yohannes Maequdi and Debre Tsion the same day. The walking was hard work but Haileselassie was patient and encouraging and the views were incredible. The next day we saw the most famous churches, Abuna Yemata Guh and Maryam Korkor, Haileselassie suggested to see them on the second day and we were glad we did – the location and views were breathtaking and the church paintings unforgettable. Because it was around Easter and we were staying in Wukro, Haileselassie recommended we go to Wukro Cherkos church to a see the church service, it goes all night and he met us and took us there before dawn. It was beautiful to participate in the celebrations. Afterwards he also took us to his house to meet his family, his wife made coffee for us in the Ethiopian style and we played with his son - we felt very welcome and lucky to be invited! Haileselassie was very knowledgeable about all the churches and very responsive to our needs, everything was well organised and the prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend you go with him!
