Kumartuli, Kolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal, India As the heat starts to rise, let's take a break and get a cup of coffee at a beautiful coffee house built during the British Raj. As your guide takes you through the history of this magnificent city, proceed to Kumortuli , the potter’s colony of Kolkata. You will witness craftsman making hundreds of clay idols without using any modern day machinery. These idols are molded into Gods and Goddesses and used in the temples for ceremonial rituals. The market places in Kolkata all the places in the residential areas. The flower shops are common and it is colorful during winter.The flowers are brought from neighboring places..

Maniktala pricing is relatively ok and fresh , Bansdroni can visit for seasonal fruits and vegetables ( woodapples, chaalta - Dillenia fruit or Elephant apple for chutney ), fresh bok phool for frying with some good rice paste ......
Lake market is for flowers and fresh herbs , vegetables .....fish also but the prices are on the upward side
Gariahat is for fish , chicken, continental and really has to be checked for weighing scales ....
