Exklusiv bei Viator: Ruinen von Tulum, Riffschnorcheln, Cenote und Höhlen

This is a long and active day - no water or snacks were provided until almost halfway through the day. I was unable to participate in the activity due to dizziness and feeling unwell after a 6.30am pick up! The weather wasn't great which didnt help. The guide, Sergio was under pressure to get us to each activity quickly so it felt a bit rushed. The first snorkeling stop was literally a jump into the ocean from a boat into choppy water where you were left until the boat returned to collect you. Not what we expected. The cenote was beautiful - bats in the caves which is something to be aware of! Very long day - didnt return to our hotel until 5.40pm. Would recommend to those who are more adventurous and not for first time snorkeling or those a little more anxious.

To begin - overall, the tour was fine. Our biggest issue: Being picked up at 6:15AM to drive around for 2 hours picking others up because there isn’t a centralized pickup area just isn’t acceptable. We were also the last ones dropped off. This is advertised as an 8-10 hour tour, not 12, which is how much time we spent between travel and the tour itself. It began and ended the tour on a negative note, especially since some hotels were truly off the beaten path, in the middle of nowhere. Other issues: - They don’t allow sunscreen or bugspray. - They don’t allow water unless it is in a reusable bottle, which is fine, but a reminder email needs to be sent out about these small detail rules, because the lack of water in the heat is extremely dangerous. - On the bus, we were told we needed to have long sleeves and long pants because of the mosquitoes. It is only listed as “recommended” long sleeves on the activity details. Mosquitoes are not mentioned at all. - There needs to be an adult only option. This doesn’t factor into my review, but we spent all day with a family who were arguing/scolding their 6/9 year olds the entire time. We were in the cenote at one point and the guide turned off his light so we could enjoy the dark+silence, and one of the kids IMMEDIATELY started talking, ruining the experience. Also they forced this 9 year old boy (who was very out of shape) to carry a gigantic backpack most of the trip. It was disturbing to watch, and he will surely develop some kind of back problems. - Lastly, we had to pay $60 for our photos, which was fine. However, we were told all the photos were taken “today”, including ones of animals we never saw on our tour. Many of the photos were clearly taken on a different day and added in. The tour itself and activities were all good. Lunch was good, although extremely late in the day. However, I would choose another tour company next time based on this experience.

Had an awesome time on the Tulum Ruins, Reef Snorkeling, Cenote and Caves tour. Alejandro was our guide and he was fantastic - super knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area and his work. He kept the group engaged the whole day and made everything easy to understand. Steffi was our photographer, and she did a great job capturing all the best moments - seriously, the photos are incredible! The highlight for me was definitely exploring the cenotes and going snorkeling on the reef. We spotted many turtles, schools of fish, and stingrays really close up, which was honestly amazing. The whole experience was well organized and loads of fun. If you’re heading to Tulum and want a mix of history, nature, and some adventure, I’d definitely recommend this tour!
