Enjoy A Delightful Three-Course Lunch In The Heart Of Lisbon

Ze is a great host and wonderful cook. We had a great time from when we walked in until we left many hours later. He quickly put us at ease, making it clear we should feel at home. In his family, the table is the place to be - to enjoy great food and wine, and one another. We were able to experience this at his home. As the five of us don't speak Portuguese, Ze's fluency in English made it easy to talk about many topics. He loves to talk about the foods, cheeses and wines of Portugal. You get a clear appreciation of what he is serving and why it is a typical dish in Portugal. With five of us, we had several food restrictions which wasn't a problem for Ze. In one case, he prepared a delicious typical dish which one of us couldn't eat. He also prepared a variation of that same dish so that person could eat it and get a sense of the original dish. Ze is an urban planner, as are two of us. He provided many insights about development in Lisbon and Portugal. It was a delightful evening. Fabulous food, wonderful atmosphere and truly a great bargain.

It was our first time participating with Eatwith and this was also our first time traveling to Lisbon, Portugal. We decided last minute to participate as we couldn't get reservation to a specific restaurant we wanted for our last night's special dinner treat. I came upon this service and I was intrigued, but it also felt adventurous! Ze and Priscilla made our trip that much memorable. They opened their cute home to us and made us feel at home. We did not feel one bit awkward especially with other travelers and there was never a dull moment. We went through probably 5-6 bottles of wine! Most importantly, the dinner Ze and Priscilla prepared was not only good, but it really embodied the Portuguese culture and experience. They went above and beyond our expectations. I will highly recommend!
