We are a family of 4, mom, dad, and two boys, 22 and 20. We recently went on our first trip to Sorrento, and wanted to have an authentic pasta-making experience. Looking at all of the opportunities online can be overwhelming, but I chose this one based on the reviews, as well as the fact that the day/time worked out well for our schedule. We couldnt have been more pleased with the experience, from the start when we were picked up at the train station, to the end, when we were actually driven back to our apartment, which was about 20 min away. We were hoping for a look inside what an Italian family meal is like, and we got it. Rossella and her family were delightful. Their home is so welcoming and charming, and they did their best to make this a complete experience. We had conversation, learned about them, saw her garden area, were given appetizers, a glass of Prosecco, and then got to work on the food. Oh my goodness! She walked us through the process of making gnocchi, and we got to make our own. She is a great teacher. We also made mini fried pizzas. Those were eaten like an appetizer while the gnocchi was cooking. We then sat down to a family meal at their dinner table, where we had wine, gnocchi, pork ribs (she had made these for us), some delicious dessert, and some homemade limencello (made by Rossella, with her own home-grown lemons). Delicious! We all thoroughly enjoyed this time with this family, and would not hesitate to cook with them again!

Cooking with Maria Rosella was one of our most precious memories from our honeymoon through Europe (this experience was definitely a bucket list item for me). Maria put up her Christmas decorations early in anticipation of our arrival. From the time we walked through the front door we immediately felt like we were being welcomed by family. She had Prosecco and hors d'oeuvres waiting for us (we had walked all the way from the train station so we were ready to party). As soon as we put our aprons on she had us working hard making potato croquettes, fried artichokes, fried meatballs, gnocchi alla sorrento, and tiramisu. My husband is not much of a cook....but he was rolling gnocchi almost as fast and perfect as Maria! He had a blast to say the least. The best part, after our hard work, was sitting down together at a beautifully set up dinner table, and eating dinner with her sweet husband and daughter-in-law. We quickly lost track of time sharing family stories and culinary memories! Maria also showed us her beautiful garden full of flowers and fresh fruits. She even let us have a taste of her homemade limoncello! I can only hope we meet again one day so that we may do this again. Grazie Maria and Celeste for such an incredible experience. The Texans miss you dearly.

The minute you arrive you feel like part of the family! Rossella is warm and welcoming, and once you put your apron on, you experience her culinary talents. Beyond the amazing dishes you prepare, she passes along information and history, recipes, and sets a beautiful table so you can enjoy your efforts — it is a total experience! My day with Rosella Home Cooking was the best day of my vacation! It was so fun, and I am excited to make ravioli on my own now that I’m home.
