Join your host Putu in her kitchen for a private, hands-on cooking class. Unlike many other TripAdvisor tours, this is a private experience. You and your host will prepare 2-3 authentic Balinese dishes. As you chop, grind and grill, Putu will teach you about the spices she uses in her family recipes as well as the medicinal qualities of Balinese ingredients. Putu's kitchen is simple, with only a two-burner cooktop but you will be impressed by the speed and fluidity with which she prepares a complex menu with multiple dishes. You will taste a variety of authentic dishes with potential ones being Putu’s grilled eggplant with tomato, grilled fish with Balinese sambal (chili sauce), a curry dish (either chicken, fish or vegetarian) or perhaps a variety of pepes (foods seasoned with local spices, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed). You can expect the cooking lesson to last about 1-2 hours before you sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you helped prepare with your host and her family.

    I had the most incredible experience at an authentic cooking class in Ubud, Bali! Led by an absolutely fabulous woman, this class was the perfect blend of fun, and culture. From using fresh ingredients from the family’s garden to making traditional Balinese recipes, everything was thoughtfully curated. Her passion for cooking and sharing her heritage was truly inspiring, and her warmth made us feel welcome. The flavors were out of this world, and we left with a full heart. If you're in Bali, this is a must-do experience!

    I had a fun evening cooking food and sharing stories. The host is so nice and explained everything we were doing. She opened up her home and showed me around. You can tell she cares deeply with everything she does in life. Everything tasted delicious. There was so much food made, so she packed me a plate to take home. Thank you!

    The host (Putu) and her husband picked us up from our Villa. Along the way Putu does a fantastic job of creating conversation and telling you more about Ubud. Once arriving to her home, she will show you her garden and the different temples and what they mean. From there you will see more of her garden. Before cooking you will try several fruits from the garden that tastes good. You will have a great privilege of cooking 3 dishes. Before cooking you will see all of the ingredients. As you are cooking you will be given great explanations in detail. After the cooking is complete you will eat all of the cooked food with a beer. If you are looking to learn and cook traditional food, this is something you want to book and experience.
