Join your host Putu in her kitchen for a private, hands-on cooking class. Unlike many other TripAdvisor tours, this is a private experience. You and your host will prepare 2-3 authentic Balinese dishes. As you chop, grind and grill, Putu will teach you about the spices she uses in her family recipes as well as the medicinal qualities of Balinese ingredients. Putu's kitchen is simple, with only a two-burner cooktop but you will be impressed by the speed and fluidity with which she prepares a complex menu with multiple dishes. You will taste a variety of authentic dishes with potential ones being Putu’s grilled eggplant with tomato, grilled fish with Balinese sambal (chili sauce), a curry dish (either chicken, fish or vegetarian) or perhaps a variety of pepes (foods seasoned with local spices, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed). You can expect the cooking lesson to last about 1-2 hours before you sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you helped prepare with your host and her family.

    Amazing experience! Putu has a beautiful home and explained everything so well. The food was incredible. The kitchen is outdoor and well equipped. We went to the night booking and it was wonderful. Well lit after the sun went down. The ingredients were all laid out and ready for us. She explained all of the elements and let us adjust our spice level. Pick up was on time and very well organized. Make sure you have whatsapp downloaded because she uses this to communicate. We had so much good leftover and she sent us home with to go boxes. Highly recommend

    A Truly Authentic and Memorable Experience! We had such a wonderful time at Putu's private Balinese cooking class in Ubud! From the convenient hotel pickup to the warm welcome at her beautiful family home, everything was seamless and inviting. Putu is not only a fantastic cook but also a kind and patient teacher who made the entire experience feel personal and authentic. We prepared a delicious variety of traditional Balinese dishes, including chicken in rich Balinese spices, sautéed green beans, homemade corn fritters, and even enjoyed fresh young coconut straight from the tree. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and we loved learning about the local ingredients and cooking techniques.

    My daughter and I enjoyed this cooking class a lot. It was a very authentic experience that we highly recommend to do if you are in Ubud. Putu not only taught us how to cook delicious food, but also about her home temples, garden and culture. All the ingredients used were fresh from the garden an the cooking methods traditional. A must do!
