    El parque tiene un gran atractivo para los visitantes nacionales y extranjeros que es el turismo contemplativo, en donde se encierra el embrujo de la Leyenda del Dorado, la cual, a través de la historia a contado los rituales que realizaban los indígenas a sus dioses bañándose en oro y sumergiéndose en la laguna para ofrendar así sus más valiosos tesoros. Al llegar a la laguna y durante un recorrido de dos horas un guía de parques nativo de habla inglesa o en español se une al grupo para explicar la cultura de los indios muiscas, la leyenda de El Dorado y la importancia biológica del área durante aproximadamente 75 minutos, incluyendo una caminata de 30 minutos a lo largo de un camino hacia el borde del cráter para ver la laguna de Guatavita. caminando por la reserva escuchando la historia de la leyenda de “El Dorado” y la cultura de los indios muiscas.

I bought a private tour with my husband to the lake but when we came to the lake itself turned out we have to take tour with local guide and a huge group of other tourust. It's not allowed to get to the lake alone ( with our own guide from this agency), you have to go 1,5 hours with the whole group and with stops every 2 minutes . You cannot turn back and you cannot go in your own tempo too. These are the rules of the lake, and no one warned us about it before, this is exactly the type of excursion I hate and would never go if I knew. My husband had a knee surgery and he cannot stand too long , so walking 1,5 hour with constant stops is impossible for him. We tried to get a permission to walk with our guide fast to the point where we can see lake, but it's not allowed. After we found that out we asked manager who sold us tour to solve this fairly ,I didn't expect for full refund, only partial - but we got nothing. - I asked manager Miguel Montoya before buying if we can stop the tour at any time or if we can make it fast, and he said yes - which was a lie. We feel scammed and disappointed with such attitude!

A great tour to Guatavita-Lagune and Nemocón with our safe driver and very charming guide . Lots of information. We can really recommend this tour!
