    Get to know Contoy and Isla Mujeres and enjoy a full day surrounded by nature and fun for the whole family. Sail on the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean sea on board of a 55-foot boat on your way to Contoy, while enjoying the unparalleled view of the bay with a refreshing drink in hand. Halfway through, you will have the opportunity to snorkel at the incredible Ixlache reef, which is part of the second-largest barrier reef in the world, home to millions of marine species. Afterward, head to Isla Contoy, a natural reserve where you can visit the open-air museum, the viewpoint, admire more than 100 species of endemic birds and snorkel in its crystal clear waters. You will have 3 hours to explore at your own pace or to relax and enjoy before returning. Lunch in Contoy consists of a delicious buffet on the beach, which includes fresh grilled fish Tikinchik style, chicken, salad, rice, fruit, and open bar drinks.

Dock tax and National Park’s fee per person are not included and must be paid in cash the day of the excursion. Snorkel activity is only for avid swimmers older than 12 years.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

UK customer here. Be very wary of asking Nexus staff about which tours to go on when they contact you. They will sell you anything to make a commission. We love nature and wanted to visit a beautiful island to see nature.. Liliana recommended Isla Mujeres/Contoy tour. We paid $320 US and went on the worst, most disorganised tour you can imagine. All English speaking people had no clue what was going on and weren’t even sure if were going to get a meal. We spent 50 mins in the “commercial hell” beach front of Isla Mujeres. Pre trip we were told we would be on Mujeres 2hrs. But it was only 50 mins. There was no tour or time to see any other part of the island. When we visited Isla Contoy we actually spent only 15 mins being shown a tiny part of the island. So out of a 9hr tour only 15 mins was “nature” which we’d asked to see. At the harbour, when paying the $15US harbour fee, the authority made everyone sign a document saying they agreed to “No snorkelling” Yet when we were on the boat (Cancun Sailing ran the tour) this was ignored and they let people snorkel with poorly fitting life vests. Clearly your insurance wouldn’t cover you if anything happened). When finally back at our hotel I raised our disappointment with the Nexus Rep - her reply “You selected the tour!”. Our warning to others is: “ Do not trust this company, they are not customer centric”

Pesima experiencia… Contrate un tour a Holbox, me asignaron un transporte que, estando alojado en cancun, me paso a buscar para luego ir a a buscar mas gente a playa del carmen, esto genero que un largo viaje de 2hs se transforme en uno de 3.30hs (7 HORAS TOTALES ARRIBA DE UNA COMBI PARA UN TOUR QUE DURO LO MISMO QUE EL VIAJE). Luego, al llegar me encuentro con que me asignaron a un tour en ingles, eramos los unicos del grupo que hablaban español ya que era un tour para gente de habla inglesa. Al comunicarme con la empresa su respuesta fue “No depende de nosotros”… Es decir, ellos te venden el tour pero NO se hacen cargo si algo sale mal. Luego opte por volver a confiar en ellos (muy mal de mi parte) y contrate un tour a isla contoy, tras pedirle reiteradas veces que me confirmen el espacio antes de pagar, realice el pago, para que finalmente me cancelen el tour diciendo que no lo tenían disponible. Su respuesta? “No depende de nosotros” nuevamente. Esta empresa subcontrata a terceros para hacer sus tours, lo cual no es algo malo en si mismo. El problema es que no se hacen cargo de lo que venden y ante cualquier problema dicen que no es culpa de ellos. Solicite hablar con un manager hace 5 dias y nadie se comunico conmigo. La falta de seriedad y profesionalismo demostrado por NexusTours es realmente sorprendente. Opten por otra empresa, hay muchas opciones para elegir.
