UK customer here. Be very wary of asking Nexus staff about which tours to go on when they contact you. They will sell you anything to make a commission. We love nature and wanted to visit a beautiful island to see nature.. Liliana recommended Isla Mujeres/Contoy tour.
We paid $320 US and went on the worst, most disorganised tour you can imagine. All English speaking people had no clue what was going on and weren’t even sure if were going to get a meal. We spent 50 mins in the “commercial hell” beach front of Isla Mujeres. Pre trip we were told we would be on Mujeres 2hrs. But it was only 50 mins. There was no tour or time to see any other part of the island.
When we visited Isla Contoy we actually spent only 15 mins being shown a tiny part of the island. So out of a 9hr tour only 15 mins was “nature” which we’d asked to see.
At the harbour, when paying the $15US harbour fee, the authority made everyone sign a document saying they agreed to “No snorkelling” Yet when we were on the boat (Cancun Sailing ran the tour) this was ignored and they let people snorkel with poorly fitting life vests. Clearly your insurance wouldn’t cover you if anything happened).
When finally back at our hotel I raised our disappointment with the Nexus Rep - her reply “You selected the tour!”. Our warning to others is: “ Do not trust this company, they are not customer centric”
