Enjoy this Madeira West Island Tour which includes a short levada walk and a great lunch. This is a really scenic tour is one of the most popular tours on the island with a variety of things to see. You will enjoy the mixture of coastal, mountain and forest views that you will encounter all along the tour. The guides are all experienced and will give you and informative and entertaining tour. At lunch time enjoy a traditional lunch with a local wine. This tour is normally done in a minibus that takes up to 8 passengers but can be a 16 seater during the busy seasons.

  • May be operated by a multi-lingual guide. If there is 5 or less people that speak the same language they may be mixed with a bus that speaks another language. The guide will however be speaking in all the languages required.
  • On occasions the levada walk might not be possible due to unforeseen circumstances like fires or bad weather, etc.
  • The tour route can be changed due to unforeseen circumstances, such as traffic restrictions and weather.

I had a lovely day on the west tour. The only issue was there was no Levada walk, one reason I booked it but still not been updated to say this isn’t included.I booked lunch unknown to me, I was the only person having lunch. But it was very nice, having the local fish with banana. Definable recommend this tour. Guide was great too.

We cannot recommend this company. We arranged a Pickup. When they were late, we selected Contact Tour Operator and found that the App does not update to reflect any changes. The meeting point &location were changed but did not show on the App. We ran 15 minutes away. The driver (Carlos) was angry with us! At the glass bridge, there was a fee that we were not told about. Not much money but it wasted time to see if he had our ticket. At the plateau with oak trees, it was raining hard, very muddy and slippery. I fell almost back to the van. We tried to clean my pants off. Carlos yelled at me that I would get mud on the seat! He did not care if I was hurt! For a company that does this tour often & knows the weather, they should be prepared with towels rather than yell at passengers. The van was very crowded with tall and large people. Other tour groups do this same tour. I chose this one because it scheduled a Levada walk and lunch. No Levada walk! I asked why and was told that was a different tour even though our tour title and description included that. That was the final blow for me! The sites were good but the communication, organization and follow through were not good. We use Viator all over the world and rarely have any issues. This one had multiple issues with Madeira Seekers.

Didn’t include a guided hike as advertised or poncha to drink/try. didn’t know there would be time to swim; so I didn’t bring my swim gear. The lunch was amazing and the guide was great.
