We were fortunate to book a small group tour where the other participants didn't show up, giving us essentially a private tour with Sonia. She was fantastic—full of information, history, and engaging anecdotes. Her sense of humor kept us thoroughly entertained throughout the tour.
However, our only issue stemmed from the tour company's organization.
The communication regarding our arrival time was inconsistent: we received an email instructing us to arrive 20 minutes early, a WhatsApp message instructing 15 minutes early, and our tickets indicating 10 minutes early. Uncertain about the correct time, we decided to arrive 20 minutes in advance.
Unfortunately, this led to an awkward situation where we arrived on time, but Sonia, our guide, was only told to arrive at the scheduled tour time. Compounding the confusion, we had to wait nearly 15 minutes for the no-show participants. Consequently, we waited a total of 35 minutes, our tour started 15 minutes late, and we felt rushed toward the end to finish on time. This lack of coordination from the tour planners felt disorganized and left us with the impression that the company's operational procedures could be improved.
When they advise arriving 20 minutes early, we naturally expected someone to be there to greet us, as has been our experience with other tours.
The tour itself was wonderful, the getting there was a bit rough.
