  • Quinta Morgado da Torre, Sitio da Penina, 8501-156 Portimão, Portugal
    Located on the north border area of Portimão and Alvor. With the big mountain of Monchique, that dominates the view when we are at the vineyards, this large property has also growing areas of cork trees, wheat fields and orange trees. In the family since 1865 and producers of grapes from a long time, this farm built their modern winery in 1999 and were the first producing certified designation of origin wines in the Algarve. In the esplanade, at the shop or at the oak barrels is visible the tradition of this family estate.

  • Quinta Do Frances Winery, Silves, Portugal
    Located north Portimão, already on Silves county. It's an exclusive wine farm production, the one located most north in the region ,right on the beginning of the Monchique Mountains. Owned by a portuguese-french couple that met at Bordeaux, where he was born and grew up surroundend by the influence of wine. They moved in the region at the beginning of the century to start this project from zero. In the slopes of Odelouca River Vlley, they planted their vineyard and built their small but well equiped winery, that also hosts a tasting room, barrels room and laboratory.

Fabio is an excellent communicator, both on wine and winemakers and also on the local area. The 2 wineries we visited provided interestingly different tastings, one from closer to the sea and the other inland in a hilly region. Not only were we treated to various examples of the winemakers art, but also to a look at the vines and an explanation of their continuing culture. Monchique and Foia peak at sunset were brilliant, despite the mist creeping up the mountainside. As for the meal at Luar da Foia - it's immediately on my personal 'best restaurants' list! Fabio, please let me know what you think of the Quinta do Frances 2022 rose when you finally taste it. Thanks for a great day!

This tour was fantastic. Fabio was knowledgeable and great company. We were a group of 5, ages 37-82 and each of us had a wonderful time I would highly recommend this tour

Fantastic tour. Fabio was friendly, knowledgeable and fun and included some fantastic locations for wineries and dinner. Pick up was smooth and easy, direct from our Air BnB accommodation and the journey included some great mountaintop views. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wishes to learn more about Portuguese wine and experience good food, drink and company!
