Very good experience. Chef was excellent and Anasthasia my translator was superb. She went way above and beyond sharing information about Rome.

My husband, son (6), and I did the sunset cooking class in the Jewish Ghetto with Gourmetaly. Anastasia was our excellent guide. She first led us down a lovely, small alley and told us the story of the stumble stones placed there. We continued our walk to La Taverna Del Ghetto and met the chef who would teach us to make pasta! There was an apron and workstation for each of the 5 members of our tour already set up. There was wine and water for the adults, and my son got a soft drink. Then the fun began! The chef demonstrated how to make the pasta dough as Anastasia translated. When the dough was the right consistency, each of us got to put it through the pasta machine to smooth and flatten it, then again to cut it into the pasta shape. We were then invited into the working kitchen to see the chef make the sauces and cook the pasta we just made. What an experience! We went back into the dining room, where we were met with more wine and the traditional Roman antipasti - carciofo alla giuda (twice-fried artichokes), fried cod, and fiori di zucca (fried zucchini blossoms). Thank goodness for Anastasia for teaching us how to eat the artichokes properly! Then our pasta came out - how satisfying to know we had a part in cooking such a delicious meal. And finally, we were treated to dessert - ricotta tarts with various fruit jams. As delicious as the food was, what truly made the evening special was the chef and Anastasia. The chef was so patient with my son and made the experience so fun for him. Anastasia sat with us at dinner and we chatted about food, Roman life, cooking, culture and just about everything. Truly a memory we will never forget. Thank you!

Daniela is an amazing guide who is extremely personable and knowledgeable. She made our experience memorable and fun!
We had a great time preparing local dishes in a gourmet setting while learning about the local culture. The food we prepared was incredible and we felt like we learned how to prepare them on our own and good techniques.
I would 10/10 recommend choosing this experience over others as it felt more niche and fun compared to any regular cooking class.
