I booked the Red Baron biplane “Pitts Special” experience for Sunday, August 3, and received the cancellation notice just 24 hours beforehand on Saturday due to bad weather. They reached out and offered
1. A Monday slot (I already had a full-day tour and couldn’t change it)
2. A completely different aircraft (the Extra not the biplane I paid for)
3. A Western Sydney route, with extra fees if I still wanted to include the Harbour
These offer comes with Extra charges
When I insisted on the biplane over Sydney Harbour they then offered the Harbour & Northern Beaches flight at no extra charge but still in the Extra not the red baron biplane I’d booked.
I tried calling multiple times (always sent to voicemail) and sent several follow-up emails.
They were helpful and promptly responded at first but went silent once I pressed for my refund. Because I received no response on Sunday, I was ultimately marked as a “no-show" forfeiting my booking entirely.
In the end I paid for a very specific biplane experience, never got to fly it and never received a refund or any clear resolution.
I understand weather cancellations happen, but the lack of timely communication and failure to resolve the issue left me frustrated. I can’t recommend booking with them unless you’re prepared for no-show status and no clear path to getting your money back.
