This shrine is different from others. Not only buildings but existence seem special to Japanese people.
The first SHOGUN, Ieyasu was buried then diefied here to guard all the Japanese people and his established feudal government by samural warriors.
His tomb faces to the west to watch over still unstable nations then.
Although he passed away in 1617, he has been adored and loved by the local people. One of the Chinese characters used in his first name, YASU, is used in a lot of ordinary people even now. That proves how he is popular among the local people.
