Join this special Gaudí experience! Learn about modernism and the famous Catalan architect during a two hours walk. Have your hands-on experience in a workshop in the historic center where you will create your own souvenir in Gaudí´s mosaic style called Trencadís. Why is there a dragon on the roof top? Why was a bat decisive in a battle? Where is the House of Bones? During the walking tour we will make the connection from medieval history and legends to what inspired Gaudí and other architects when designing buildings along the grand Passeig de Gracia. From street pavement to lamp posts – all have a story that we want to tell you! The walk will lead us to Angelika´s workshop where you will learn the mosaic art named “Trencadís”. This technique - using materials such as shards of glass or ceramics - can be found on Gaudí´s work. After a short introduction you will learn the basics, handling of tools and how to create your first masterpiece such as a fridge magnet or the top of a box.

We would recommend this fabulous and interesting tour. We went with children aged 9-11. We all found Christian was engaging and knowledgable, with lots of good anecdotes. Because of the small group, there was plenty of time to ask questions. We all enjoyed the mosaic workshop - time for a little mosaic on a fridge magnet or box.

Da wir zu Corona Zeiten eine Online Tour durch Barcelona mit der ganzen Familie gemacht haben, war es endlich soweit, dass wir wieder reisen konnten. Natürlich wollten wir nun eine live Tour mit Christian machen. Da ich mit meinem 9jährigen Sohn unterwegs war, haben wir uns für diese Architekturtour mit Mosaikworkshop entschieden. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Christian hat den Inhalt wunderbar abgestimmt auf das Alter meines Sohnes, so dass er sich während des zweistündigen Spaziergangs nicht gelangweilt hat. Gemeinsam haben wir den Drachen auf Gaudís Casa Battló entdeckt und die spannenden Legenden, die dahinter stecken, gelernt. Christian brachte uns dann zum Workshop von Angelika, die Meisterin in der Kunst der Gaudi Mosaike ist. Gemeinsam haben wir einen Bilderrahmen aus trencadís erstellt, den wir gleich als tolles Souvenir mitnehmen konnten. Es war ein spannender Morgen mit viel Abwechslung. Die Tour ist sowohl für Erwachsene als auch für Kinder geeignet. Absolut empfehlenswert!
