Ghostbus Kids Tour

The hour went so quickly and our host/guide/actor did a great job of engaging the small group on the bus. Lots of passenger interaction and games made it very fun for our tween and it hit the perfect note of balancing fun, local history and some gore.

What can I say. From the moment you get onto o connell street you can see the big purple ghost bus. To see it from the outside, it's looks awesome. But wait till you get on board. As soon as we got to the bus we were greeted by our very smartly dressed driver which we later found out was called Tony. He briefed us as to what was going to happen and the length of time. Tony was so good with the kids as they were all very nervous about what was going to happen. When we got on the bus the downstairs was decked out in a horror theme. You make your way through this and head upstairs to where you take your seat. It's very tense till the actor comes up. Then the fun really begins. This is a toned down version of the adults tour. ( Thank god ). The actor was so good he drew you into the stories as you make your way around the city, stopping at different points to tell gross tales. He splits the bus into 2 teams ( vampires and werewolves ) and has a competition with the kids as they go round. The kids loved this part . You don't see an hour go by cos you and the kids are engrossed with the fun. As we made our way back to o connell street my daughter who was scared and nervous to start off with was jumping up and down in her seat. I don't normally write a long review, but I didn't want to do this tour an injustice. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the city who has kids and doesn't know what to do over the summer. It's not just for tourists.

Our four children from 6 to 12 went on this tour. The welcome of the very friendly driver through the spooky walk to our seats really set the scene. My daughter is very anxious and the actor /guide seemed to sense this so was inclusive of us but not in her face, this meant she soon relaxed and really enjoyed the trip As an adult I really enjoyed the stories and facts and was worried the children might get bored. The actor made the stories come alive with props that the children thought were great fun and he started a competition between both sides of the bus to quiz our knowledge which made everyone listen intently and led to 'scary' competition. The guide put up really well with the expected heckling from the crowd of children. If you have confident children I recommend sitting in the middle at our near the table and guides area as he used the table to hold some of his blood soaked props The trip was held in peak traffic on a Saturday afternoon and the actor improvised really well to keep all on board thoroughly entertained. Mu children are still excitedly talking about the tour on the next day. I do suffer from motion sickness and at the back of the bus where we sat it was extremely hot (it was 16 degrees in Dublin that day) - when leaving we noted there was a fan at the front of the bus. Our only comment would be that a fan at both ends of the bus would be a very welcome addition
