My family arrived in Munich on the day of our tour. We showed up at the meeting place and could not find a guide. After waiting 10 minutes past our start time, and asking all around, I found a phone number. The girl who answered told me my tour was cancelled. She said my bank stopped payment bc it was an overseas charge. I was NEVER notified, as this would have been an easy misunderstanding to clear up. She insisted they had sent an email which I went back to look for, and found no evidence of a notification. While I was on the phone she also informed me that our tour for the next day to Dachau was also cancelled. Wow! Great start to our family vacation. After sharing this experience with others I heard multiple stories that were similar, all through Trip Advisor tours. I had other tours planned later in the week with another company and I had no trouble at all getting payment through.
Bottom line, this turned out to be a gift. These two tours were expensive, and were able to be easily replicated without this company. We tasted many beers and German foods on our own, asking individuals in the beer halls about their beer processes. The next day we took the bus to Dachau (which you do on the tour anyway) and paid 4 Euros each to join a tour guide right there! Very informative, very inexpensive.
