The good:
All people are friendly and warm.
Good place to experiance silence and un uplifting spirit in meditation.
The general atmosphere is very good.
The quality of the food: 6 of 10
Not so good: They only cook white rice, and not whole grain rice.
I was in a shared room for two persons.
Matras quality : 6 of 10 , very hard to sleep on.
Bathroom, not so very good. Good hot water in the shower, but only if the sun has been shining.
The quality of the bathroom is below average, 4 of 10
Overall cleanliness of the room: 5 of 10 .
The room was not cleaned during my 5 day stay.
Very little space to put clothes for 2 people.
No towel provided.
Maintanance of room : 5 of 10
The not so good.
Western people need to pay much more for staying and groups, then Nepalese or Indians.
They think westerners are all miljonairs, and can be used as a cash-cow.
But they have to pay for a flight ticket, which from Europe cost around € 1150 for a return flight. A visa cost € 150.
You have to pay 100NLR. a day if you want wi-fi. In every hotel this is free of charge.
The really bad……………..
The music in the meditation hall is sometimes really deafening, extremely loud.
The ear is a very sensitive organ. It should be treated with care, to avoid hearing loss.
But the one in charge off the soundsystem, seems to think, the louder the better.
I would recommand earplugs to protect your hearing organ.
I do not like the way the 3 cows are kept at the bottem of the ashram. There is no respect.
Most of the year they are tight up with a small rope inside a stable, which allows them very little movement. No free walking around in a meadow.
All day they are fighting to keep the flies away. No flie-catchers in the stable.
It looks miserable.
This greatly affects my star rating.
It would be better if they would not keep cows...
