Jambo!
YUYI Africa was recommended to me by a friend that visited Nairobi, Kenya, in October 2021, and I can't stop thanking him for this recommendation. We reached out to Legendre about a week before our scheduled arrival. Legendre responded quickly and professionally to all communication methods and made sensible itinerary recommendations to maximize our time in Nairobi.
Once we arrived in Nairobi, we notified Legendre of our late arrival and our request to reschedule our pick time to give us a little more time to rest, and he was quickly able to accommodate our request. The following morning, Legendre informed us that he was in the hotel lobby at the scheduled time. Our first tour was to the Giraffe Manor, and along the way, Legendre assisted us in arranging a quick impromptu camel ride! Once we arrived at Giraffe Manor, Legendre helped us take the perfect pictures to ensure our visit would be memorable for years to come! The next stop was to a favorite local restaurant for us to experience some authentic Kenyan food, and it did not disappoint! His knowledge of not only Kenyan culture but of African culture is fascinating. He was able to inform us of many different aspects of social and business opportunities in the area.
Our second day was a trip to the Nairobi National Park, followed by a city tour. Legendre and his partner picked us up from our hotel for our trip and explained what animals we might see during our safari. The park is literally in the city, and it was so cool to be on a safari and see zebras and the city skyline simultaneously! The highlight of the safari excursion was when we saw the lions. SIMBA! After the safari, Legendre recommended an excellent breakfast restaurant that did not disappoint. After a beautiful breakfast, we took a walking city tour, including a stop at the Nairobi Museum. Legendre curated the museum tour, was very knowledgeable of the museum artifacts and was able to educate us about different events related to Kenyan history. Following the tour, we were able to visit a local market, and Legendre was able to mediate and negotiate to ensure we received the best price for the items we purchased. Lol!
On the third day, we scheduled a visit to a local Masai village to get a chance to see how the villagers live and maintain their way of life. During our road trip to the village, Legendre took us to Namanga, a town on the Kenyan and Tanzanian border. We purchased local souvenirs and experienced some more local Kenyan cuisine during this stop. Legendre went above and beyond in finding an authentic village for us to tour, and he did not disappoint. The village we visited was so welcoming and comforting that we didn't want to leave. We were able to tour their homes and even had the opportunity to participate in their traditional dance. We were even fortunate enough to have the village matriarch lead us in a ceremonial prayer. After thinking that the village tour was the day's highlight, we were in for yet another surprise. Unbeknownst to us, Legendre had arranged for us to have dinner at one of Nairobi's best seafood restaurants. The food and drinks were excellent but only topped by Legendre's assistance in arranging a surprise birthday/anniversary cake for us! The effort he put into that was unmatched and genuinely appreciated.
In conclusion, if you are ever in the Nairobi area and need a professional yet friend(ly) tour guide service, look no further than Yuyi Africa! The attention to detail, promptness, and overall hospitality are unmatched. Trust me; we will use them again on our next visit to Nairobi. To Legendre and the entire staff of Yuyi Africa, Asante Sana!
