The staff at SJT was great, they were very knowledgeable and helpful in helping us decide what tour would best suit us. Our Guide John was awesome, he was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. It was like going on a journey with a friend. He made us very comfortable, had water for us and was super patient as we had a 3yo in tow who insisted on walking on her own. He gave us so much information about the Native Americans whom dwelled in the area and showed us so many cool petroglyphs, and tools left behind by the inhabitants. We highly recommend this tour, and of course John as your guide.

If you have any interest in Native American history and culture, then this is a “Must Do” during your trip to Sedona. You ride to the site in a BEAST of a specially modified Jeep Gladiator that provides not only a safe and comfortable ride, but allows 360 viewing of everything along the way. If you get a little chilled, the guide will pass out some blankets and turn on the heat! Lea was our phenomenal guide. She possessed an amazing amount of knowledge about the petroglyphs, pueblo ruins, geology, and native culture. She also possessed a wealth of knowledge about how the local flora and fauna was utilized by the ancient people that inhabited the area. This is a private site and only available to Arizona Safari Jeep tours. There are no crowds of people milling about. You will have plenty of time to take photographs and ask questions. There are artifacts laying around everywhere, but per Arizona/Federal Law, they must be left undisturbed and our guide made this very clear. The site is readily accessible for most people, but not those with really small children (ie strollers) or physical disabilities. This tour is truly the opportunity of a lifetime. C.K., our guide, led our family to one Pueblo ruin, and pointed out numerous petroglyphs and artifacts near Sedona. It was an awesome experience! Throughout, C.K. gave thorough accounts of the area's geology, indigenous history, and modern-day points of interest. The hike was low intensity, but did involve some climbing over rocks to see petroglyph. My 8 year old kid and out-of-shape self handled it just fine. If you are interested in respectfully exploring native sites off the beaten path, I highly recommend this tour and tour company!
