The three sites of Tuna El Gebel, Amarna, and Beni Hassan were amazing, but the guide did not allow sufficient time.
He spent the four hour car ride informing me about what we would be seeing and of its significance, but for some reason he made offensive comments about Jews and gay people. This is bad business. The guide told me Jews were "greedy" during the time of Herod, and that homosexuality did not exist in the over 3000 years of Ancient Egyptian civilization. How does he know? Is he 5000 years old?
These were unsolicited opinions that were not appropriate or professional. It was highly offensive.
Did it not occur to the guide that he might have gay and or Jewish customers? This EMO tour guide should have kept his personal beliefs to himself in matters such as these.
