It was our first time doing an off-road tour anywhere, and we definitely got access up the mountain that we wouldn't ever have had on foot! My husband really enjoyed driving the buggy. I opted not to, also because I didn't feel like paying $45 extra for another driver.
Craig was a great, patient guide who was SO good with our kids, most specifically the little one who wanted to stop the tour because he was feeling sick from being in the back. Craig brilliantly offered for him to ride on the back of his ATV and our little guy LOVED that.
Canadian Wilderness staff was great in offering winter gear for anyone who was improperly dressed. My husband borrowed a yellow jacket to go over his clothing; and both he and the boys borrowed (thicker) gloves with the little one insisting on dexterity that mittens don't provide. Husband and I borrowed balaclavas to put on under our borrowed helmets and goggles. I should have borrowed some snow pants because I thought my knee-length jacket would keep me warm, but there were times when it was a bit chilly. When you return, there's a section where you could put your used items after the tour, ready to be cleaned and laundered. The staff were fantastic with getting the correct size of items for our kids.
It's an expensive experience but as my husband told the kids, this is a once in a lifetime kind of adventure. But I'd like to come back and ride my own ATV next time! So maybe it's a TWICE in a lifetime adventure.
