Adventure started out rough. Booked the tour and got the receipt. Sent a couple unanswered follow up questions about how to get to their detached dive shop like in the instructions. We lodged within eye sight of the shop so thought we could figure it out. The morning we walked down to the board walk to look for the ferry over to the dive shop. A man, not wearing anything that said Dive Fair Helen " came up to us and asked if we were going snorkeling? For some reason I affirmed this question and he said to come with him he will take us and will be out guide. Well alarm bells are ringing my head if you know anything about the island outside of a resort and how helpful people want to be for some money. He told us to wait at a table and he'd be back with paperwork. The paper had nothing on it that said Dive Fair Helen and I still didn't know how we were getting to the dive shop like booking said to. I called the phone number DFH a couple times and no one answered. Finally asked a waitress in the dock restaurant about where the ferry was over to the dive shop and she told me the boat was parked on this side of bay and told me where I could go see it. We did and the boat said Dive Fair Helen. This was somewhat comforting and mind you we were the only ones there for 30+ minutes and time we were to be at dive shop was now. Shortly after 2 other couple groups that were taxied in from other locations came into the restaurant area and said they were there for the snorkeling. This made me feel better. After this the tour went well. The guy that initially approached us was actually the guide and did a good job. The food was on par for St Lucia and a nice snack, dont expect a meal. The dive sites were 2 reefs along the coast. One had a bunch of tiny jellyfish that bit the whole group and we were only at that site 5 min. They don't have first-aid cream or vinegar on boat so be ready. The stings mostly were gone by time tour was over.
Am I glad we did it, yes. Would I do it again, No.
Communication was non existent and the confusion starting the day was not helpful. Signs and/or shirts identifying DFH would have been very helpful.
