We chose this excursion as something relaxing to do. The bus ride there was a bit long, but we were able to see some interesting countryside. Once in Antigua our "guide' took us into town and showed us where to meet and when to be there, then we were off. This town is easy to walk and very easy to find your way around. We explored a bunch of old churches. Several parks were there to see as well. The vendors were very tenacious. Once you started looking at one person's wares, 3 others had stuff in your face. Our friend found a mercado that you went down a long hallway to get to. After that it was a maze through several buildings. The vendors there weren't as bad as the ones in the parks. We all were a bit hungry so we went to a little restaurant there for some breakfast. (I wrote a whole other review on that). We did do some buying intown. Shop owners were very open to price haggle but were fair. We did find another place for goodies. Cafe Boheme. They had some awesome croissants. We all bought some for the ride back to the ship. I wished I had bought more.
This was worth the trip to see the town. This seems like a pace that would be fun to stay in for a few days and explore the history more.
