While the tour to Ciudad Perdida is not cheap, it is entirely worth it. Half of the adventure is the journey itself. After the first day, which consisted of a lot of hiking on hot dusty roads with many motos, the trek was absolutely beautiful. You spend a lot of time by the Buritaca River with lots of great swimming opportunities. There is lots of elevation change as you make your way through the lush, dense jungle. We were incredibly well fed throughout the journey with simple yet satisfying and delicious meals. I eat a lot and was never hungry. No need to bring snacks. Also options to buy fruit and drinks along the way. The Lost City was better than I could have hoped for. It is way bigger than the photos indicate with sections in all states of restoration and recovery. It was beautiful to look at and had a palpable energy. Jose Garcia is a great guide. He hiked fast but with good reason: we were typically the first to get places, beat the rain on multiple occasions, and avoided the other groups in the lost city. He made sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend Magic Tours and Jose Garcia.
