This is an adrenaline fueled day. I cannot recommend the zip lining or water slide enough.
However, if you are vegan or an animal lover this trip. may not be to your taste. This trip was booked through TUI with Destination Services. After the 7.15am pick up and collection at other hotels you are taken to the Buena Vista Rincon site to start the cultural part if the tour, you see tortilla being made and get to sample some traditional snacks - not suitable for vegans, but some were gluten free, and delicious coffee. The pottery display was great and there was the opportunity to purchase hand made goods. There is also a demonstration of sugar cane crushing which unfortunately had an ox tied by it horns to the sugar press. You can also sample the sugar cane juice, the can itself and the natural sugar.
The next experience is the horse riding, the horses appear cared for and have ample shade and water, but those who do not wish to add to their burden you can request to walk the trail, it's rather dusty and long trousers or legging with closed shoes or trainers recommend. We saw monkeys and birds during this part. The best parts of the trip for me were the zip lines, 7 in all with the ability to just do the first 3 and stop if wanted. A safety talk is given and you are strapped into your harness, there are ample staff at all points to ensure your safety, excellent views and totally exhilarating. It is a fairly long steepish walk through the forest to get to the first line and reasonable fitness required. Next onto the water slide, this was great fun with the opportunity to go a few times, again you will need to walk to the top so water shoes recommend, take a towel and change of clothes. The tour guide will stay with your belongings while you enjoy the adventure and you can leave valuables in the coach with the driver. A tractor ride takes you to the spa where you can indulge in the hot springs, stone sauna house and paint yourself with hot mud, be careful very hot! And the dry on the sun platform before showering off. Drinks are a bit on the expensive side at the spa, but lunch and soft drinks are included as part of the tour with a selection of buffet dishes to choose from. There are changing rooms and water fountains available. On this trip we were lucky enough to see, white faced monkeys, many birds including a toucan, coati's and some lovely flora and fauna. You can also purchase the photos of the zip lining, waterside and forest walk/ride for approx $25. All the staff were very helpful and happy.
