Booked this tour through RC when in Cozumel Feb 2023. We had a blast. We drove our Jimny's through town to arrive at Stingray Bay, and snorkeled with stingrays and nurse sharks (they were sleeping though) in their sanctuary. Then we continued for about 40 minute drive over roads and through the jungle (real off-roading!) to Jade Caverns cenote. Beautiful area and swam in the cenote...refreshing! Then we went off to Playa Mia and enjoyed a free lunch and open bar. Strolled along the beach for a bit before climbing back into the Jimny's and driving back to the port. There was not a lot of walking required and the drive through the jungle was quite bumpy...we liked it. Our guides were friendly and concerned for everyone's safety during the whole trip. Water was provided after each stop. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes adventure.
We booked this excursion operated by Wild Tours through our cruise ship. This is a four part fun-filled adventure - stopping at 3 different locations: the transportation itself is fun, driving a 4 wheel 4 passenger vehicle, a “swim with the stingrays” snorkel adventure, a drive to El Cedral where you visit the gorgeous Jade Cavern to swim and cave dive if you’d like, then a beach break at the lovely Playa Mia Grand Beach Park where lunch is included as well as an open bar. First, let me say how terrific our two Wild Tours guides were, Francisco and Luis. We had a large group and they worked very hard, always with energy and good humor! Everyone drives their own vehicles, four to a car - these are modern, air conditioned, very clean and in fact I believe are completely brand new. We paired ourselves with another couple - one couple drove the first half of the trip, the other the second half - but that is all of course up to you. There is a lot going on with this tour, and when there are a lot of guests, everything takes time - ie, filling out release forms, learning how to drive the vehicles and being told the general rules of our caravan. Same when we got to the stingray beach - having to stow our belongings, get fitted for snorkels and fins, then off to the jade cavern where you are given the option of cave diving and then to the final stop, Playa Mia, where you are given directions about where everything is, how the meal works, when and where to meet at the end to head back to the port etc - so there is a lot of hurry up and wait when there is a large group (I believe there were 30 of us) - so frankly all of the stops seemed rushed, all except the stingray swim. In particular, we could have used a LOT more time at Playa Mia - we only had 90 minutes there, and since Playa Mia is a very popular place, deservedly, by the time we got our food etc, there was scant time to enjoy the beautiful facilities there nor the lovely gift shops. I believe this is a brand new excursion so I am guessing the timing will be tweeked - it’s very fun, all of the activities/destinations are excellent - but everything seems to take more time than expected, so the tour should be longer or one of the stops should be eliminated. But again, I can’t say enough about our guides, Francisco and Luis and also, the servers at Playa Mia, in the food area, worked so hard, really did their very best!
