Maria and Rebecca were absolutely wonderful hosts. It was a chilly, rainy day, and they thoughtfully messaged us in advance to remind us that the class would be held outside (though under a covered pavilion), and to dress warmly. My 12-year-old daughter only had a sweatshirt with her, and Rebecca immediately went into the house and returned with an extra jacket for her—such a kind and thoughtful gesture.
Maria guided us step by step through preparing a delicious traditional Cretan meal. She not only explained how to make each dish, but also shared the history and cultural significance of the ingredients we used, which made the experience even more meaningful.
Although the class can accommodate up to eight guests, it was just the four of us that day, which made it feel like a private and personalized experience. We left with full hearts, full bellies—and so many leftovers!
This was a highlight of our time on Crete and a perfect experience for food lovers, families, and anyone interested in authentic cultural experiences.
