From the very start our guide Stavrous was warm and welcoming! Our group of 4 included my husband and 2 dear friends. We were joined by a British couple with 2 small boys and Stavrous comfortably communicated with and entertained everyone in our tour from age 4 to 60.
We saw breathtaking scenery and enjoyed stories about the countryside and residents of Crete, fed a flock of goats, enjoyed a shepherd’s homemade cheese, took a break at a small coffee shop in an old mountain village, and learned about the heartbreaking World War II history of the area as well as mythology based in Crete. The day was capped off by a delicious relaxed Al fresco lunch of traditional foods.
We would highly recommend this tour. The only thing we would have changed was the length of the stop to Zeus’s cave. Since the hike to get to the cave was steep we opted for the mythology museum. This was a waste of time and euros - get a smoothie instead. Would have preferred less time here and more elsewhere.
