My family and I (ages 12-66) had an amazing time in Ethiopia. Starting with a week on Addis Ababa, we fell in love with both omo valleys to the north of Labella and the Danakil Depressions.
All those places were very different and very scenic, and it was amazing experience.
We also really enjoyed the jeep drive with a functional fridge for cool beverages and the fact that you could charge multiple devices and cameras at the same time within the jeep!
To have the best experience though, it’s important to have patience and internalize the local Afar motto Selam (i.e. relax, everything is going to be okay), bring a cash for easier access to US Dollars and, when traveling with children, either require a child seat in advance or accept the lack there of (in any mode of transportation). All in all we had a wonderful trip with its people being as wonderful as the country itself!
