Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I had a rather negative experience with this company.
We were passing through Ölüdeniz in the second half of the day, and paragliding was definitely on our agenda. We contacted this company, and they were very kind and met us in Fethiye. They offered a very good price for a long flight (40-45 minutes) - $130 per person.
When we arrived at the company's office in Ölüdeniz, strange things started to happen. Paragliding is an extreme recreational activity with a high risk of injury, but there was no registration done (except for the data we sent via WhatsApp). When I went to the information desk with our passports to register, they told me that we were already registered, even though I hadn't gone through any documents or signed anything.
After that, I asked for documents confirming insurance coverage during the flight, and they first showed me Turkish documents - 2 out of 5 pages, which I obviously couldn't understand. They were rushing all the time, claiming that other passengers were already waiting on the bus, and they promised to provide the complete insurance policy as a PDF file on the phone. There was also a document (in Turkish) on the table listing the passengers for the upcoming flight, and it included the names of several people. When I said that I wanted our names to be on that list, they told me that I could sign it before takeoff and that I had the option to reconsider and pay for the flight after it was completed.
At that moment, they also showed our names in the app on their phone, along with checkboxes indicating the completion of the briefing in Russian, which had to be marked to confirm that the passenger had received the necessary information before the flight.
During the drive to the takeoff point, I could understand from the insurance document that in case of a serious injury, the coverage was only 300,000 Turkish liras. This amount is negligible and wouldn't cover the time of your incapacitation, assuming you could even receive it.
On the top, I talked to Ismail (my pilot) and told him that we would fly, fully aware that this flight was not registered at all, and we were not insured.
Ismail, my pilot, and Sebo, my girlfriend's pilot, argued that they were professional pilots and nothing would happen. Everything would be fine.
BEFORE THE FLIGHT, WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INFORMATION THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED IN THIS APPLICATION. WE DID NOT RECEIVE A BRIEFING BEFORE THE FLIGHT.
During my girlfriend's preparation, I told Sebo that she spoke English poorly.
Throughout the time before the flight, I felt stressed about the documents and the fact that the flight was not registered.
Sebo and my girlfriend took off first, and Ismail and I followed them.
Our flight with Ismail went smoothly; he took many photos and videos. We talked about the flight.
During the flight, Ismail offered me to try controlling the paraglider, but I declined.
This was my first flight, and it was interesting. I didn't feel much fear, but I still had stress due to the communication at the office.
During the flight, we observed the movement of Sebo and my girlfriend (orange parachute).
After 25 minutes, it was clear that they were flying at a relatively low altitude, above Ölüdeniz and away from the beach, which is the normal landing spot. Ismail noticed this, and we started watching them closely.
After a few minutes, it became clear that they didn't have enough altitude to reach the beach, and they were forced to make an emergency landing on a football field or parking lot 360 meters away from the normal
landing spot. According to my girlfriend, onlookers were shouting that they might hit high-voltage wires, but luckily, everything turned out fine. They landed abnormally, falling forward, but my girlfriend, fortunately, didn't get injured.
However, Ismail and I remained in the air for about 10 more minutes, and I didn't know if everything was alright with my girlfriend. I could only see from above that she was able to walk. We landed smoothly and without any problems near the beach, where all paragliders land.
Afterward, we met up with my girlfriend, Ismail, and Sebo, and as a gift, they gave us photo and video files from our flight (the regular cost of the files is $35). We thanked them for that.
After that, we went back to the office, where we paid $130 for each flight.
Ismail kindly drove us to our accommodation for the next night.
The next day, while walking around Ölüdeniz, we spoke with the director of another paragliding company. He said that he was flying at that time (above us) and, seeing my girlfriend's and Sebo's emergency landing (he mentioned Sebo's name first), he called for an ambulance. He also mentioned that Sebo had made three abnormal landings in the sea in the past few months.
Thanks for the good experience too!
I hope this review helps you choose the right company and people to whom you entrust your life.
Below are the photos confirming the flights.
