Our small group was guided by Tatjana through the history and context of the development and evolution of Florence to frame a much better understanding and appreciation of the rest of our 4-day visit - religion, politics, food, sanitation, economics, -- all aspects of the Renaissance era. Many stories and anecdotes were very entertaining and informative, and she clearly knew more than she had time to tell. As the light rain turned to downpour she had extra, wonderful descriptions of art in a church that we were in. She even talked of the 1966 floods, and how rain in early November put the Florentines on edge. A highlight of our visit!
