Mon Chéri Cruises 5 sterren: Geweldige 3-daagse verkenning van het eiland Halong en Cat Ba

We booked this cruise based on the reviews. It doesn’t quite live up to the hype. Positively, all the staff, particularly Harry was excellent. Attentive, kind and professional, we couldn’t have asked for more. The rooms did have good views and were generally comfortable. Large beds, good showers, clean (there is a BUT). The food was OK - lots of it so we didn’t go hungry. Anything that was “buffet”!style was “meh”. Dinner was set menu but accommodated some changes if you don’t like seafood for example. Breakfast was served very early and finished at 730am - as the day tours started early too. Trip to Cat Ba island was interesting but took 2 hours to get there. Swimming and kayaking were good. There was not much to do on the boat in-between so we took advantage of the bar. Prices for beer and cocktails were reasonable, the wine less so. Internet connectivity was patchy so if you have needy teenage kids - beware! On the negative side, the boat we went on didn’t look like the one in the pictures - it looked a bit tired on the outside and inside. Negatively, we had to change rooms as ours began to smell of sewage. I suspect they are aware of this. When we disembarked it was pervasive on the boat. This spoilt the experience for us. In short - we were hoping for more. Other people may have had a more positive experience. Ha Long bay itself - beautiful islands but sadly, quite polluted.

It was such a wonderful experience! All of the cruise members are warmhearted, caring and extremely professional in everything they do. The food is excellent and the activities well planned. Special thanks to Tam, Giang, Hanna and Remy, but of course also all the others that made the stay so amazing!

We took trip to Ha Long Bay with Mon Cheri, three days and two nights. We are very satisfied and enjoyed the trip while we stayed with Mon Cheri and their staff were excellent. Our favorite server is Remy, he is extremely helpful and provided us prefect service. 10/10, five stars.
